Overview

This hike is 3 miles to the Summit and is a easy day hike with wonderful views of the Mountain Loop Highway. The parking lot starts out at about an elevation of 3,200 feet and the summit is 5,324 feet. Recommended May-October, due to heavy amounts of snow, it can be done in winter but can in ways be more treterous and much more difficult and yu might have to walk to the parking lot which is the reason I think it is best done in spring. From the summit you can see Three Fingers, Glacier Peak, White Horse, Mount Pugh, Vesper Peak, and many more.
Getting There from Seattle: Drive North on I-5 until you get to Everett, on your right there will be a juntion to get onto highway 2, take it and after a few mintutes, there is a road called Snohomish Marysville Road which is on your left and goes to Lake Stevens. From here you take a left onto highway 9 for about 1.75 miles and then take a right onto highway 92 (Granite Falls Highway). Take this road for about 18 miles until you get to Verlot, where you can go to a rangers station to pick up a NorthWestForest pass which is required and are 35$ Anually or a 5$ day one. After the rangers station, on your right there will be a road called Mount Pilchuck Road, take this road all the way up to the trail head which is 7 miles from the bottom. If you come here in winter be sure to bring chains for your car because I have had to dig people out of these situations.
